CANYON, Texas -- In a game that has major implications on the Lone Star Conference standings, the West Texas A&M men's soccer team travels to Wichita Falls to take on the Midwestern State Mustangs. The two rivals kickoff at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Stang Park.

WT and Midwestern State meet for the second time this season after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Canyon on Sept. 14. Midwestern State leads the all-time series with a 22-31-5 record.

SCOUTING MIDWESTERN STATE
The Mustangs enter the contest following a 4-1 rout of UT Permian Basin in Odessa. Mere Escobar recorded a hat trick to extend his team lead in points. Following Escobar's 21 points, Rory Doyle has 12 on three goals and six assists. Adam Braman has totaled nearly 1,200 minutes in goal for Midwestern State. During his 14 appearances, Braman has 27 saves and 11 goals allowed on 132 shots faced. Those numbers give Braman a 0.83 goals-against average and 0.711 save percentage.

LAST TIME OUT
WT suffered its first conference loss of the season as Oklahoma Christian defeated the Buffs, 2-1. In the game, WT looked to score in the first two minutes, but the goal was overturned due to an offside call. The game went to the half scoreless before
Ben Siri broke the tie in the 58th minute. The Eagles tied the game in the 69th before taking the lead in the 78th.

BUTCH LAUFFER
Butch Lauffer is in his 32nd season as head men's soccer coach at West Texas A&M University. As the longest tenured head coach in WT history, Lauffer has coached the men to 29 consecutive non-losing seasons and the women to 12-plus victories in 12 seasons. Lauffer has recorded a 369-164-48 (.676) record at the helm of the Buffs with a 558-231-65 (.692) overall record at WT.

LSC STANDINGS
St. Mary's won the LSC Regular Season title on Wednesday night. DBU sits second with 15 points while WT and LCU follow in the standings with 13 points each. Midwestern State holds the fifth spot with 12 points, and Oklahoma Christian sits just behind with 11.
