NEW ORLEANS, La. – West Texas A&M men's and women's cross country programs remained ranked in the latest coaches' poll released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday afternoon.
The Buffs dropped one spot to 22
nd and are one six teams from the South Central Region ranked in the Top 30. Colorado School of Mines is tied with Grand Valley State at No. 1 as they both teams received four first-place votes. Adams State is third with Colorado Christian in fifth followed by UC-Colorado Springs in 14
th, Western Colorado in 18
thand WT in 22
nd.
The Lady Buffs remained at 25
th after moving into the poll for the first time since 2014 last week. Eight schools from the region are represented in the poll with Mines in second, ASU in third, UCCS in seventh, CSU-Pueblo in 17
th, Dallas Baptist in 18
th, CCU in 21st, WT in 25
th and Western in 27
th.
WT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the 20
th annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ken.
