SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State enters the final game of the regular season 5-2-1 overall and 4-2-1 in LSC play. They have won two straight games by a combined score of 10-0.

MSU is scoring 3.3 goals per game led by the duo of Trevor Amann and Julian Barajas. Amann, a senior from Westminster, Colo., has a team-high eight goals and one assist for a total of 17 points. He has scored braces against Hardin-Simmons, Lubbock Christian, UT Tyler and DBU.Â

Barejas, a senior from Fort Worth, has scored goals in consecutive games giving him four on the season. Mere Escobar, Carlos Flores, Yogi Vargas and Rory O'Keefe have also scored multiple goals this season.Â

Taylor Lampe, the LSC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year, has started in a total of three games this season. He has only allowed two goals, both of those coming in a 2-1 loss to Oklahoma Christian. Marc-Antoine Huzen has also started in four games for the Mustangs making eight saves.Â

The Mustangs are led by third-year head coach Michael Meachum, who has compiled a record of 32-8-4 after taking over for Doug Elder. Prior to being named the head coach, he spent seen seasons as an assistant coach at MSU.

THE SERIES
The Buffs are 20-33-3 all-time against Midwestern State. The series dates back to Sept. 17, 1991 during Buffs inaugural season. Â

LOOKING TO MAKE IT SIX STRAIGHT
The Buffs will look to push their win streak to six games on Tuesday after picking up a 3-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian on March 30 at The Pitch.Â

Beau Johnson opened his scoring account in the 18th minute with a nice individual effort down the left flank.
Giancarlo Saldana doubled the advantage with a thunderous strike from 30 yards out. The junior transfer would add a third in the 85th minute on an assist from
Stefan Andjelic.Â

Alexander Vencel picked up his 33rd career win in his final regular season home game. The Academic All-American ranks third all-time in saves (183) and shutout (18).

THE 30TH YEAR
With the victory against OC, head coach
Butch Lauffer moves to a 348-156-39 (.676) all-time record at the helm of the Buffs.  Lauffer is the longest tenured coach at WT with a career starting back in 1991.  Including his 14 seasons as the head coach of the women's team (1996-2009), Lauffer is now 576-223-56 (.692) during his illustrious career in Canyon.Â

LONE STAR CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
The Buffs will host the Lone Star Conference Tournament that is slated to begin on Saturday, April 10, at 5 p.m. with the first of two semifinals. The final will be played on Monday at a time to be determined later this week.
