CANYON, Texas – The No. 6 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M return to the pitch as they open Lone Star Conference play against Lubbock Christian for another Rivalry on the Range matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the LCU Soccer Facility.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's match marks the 14
th meeting between the two programs with WT leading the all-time series since its start in 2013. The Buffs defeated Lubbock Christian 3-2 at home early in the season to lead LCU 8-5 in the series.
SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
Since their last meeting, the Chaps fell to nationally-ranked 12
th Midwestern State in a 3-0 shutout. LCU enters the weekend 3-4 under fifth-year head coach Paul Gilbert. The Chaps have collected 11 goals this season, averaging 1.57 on 10.0 shots for a .157 shot-percentage.
Nine Chaps have seen scoring this season led by Flores Fernando and Luciano Rodriguez each with two with Fernando holding a team-high seven points. Braxton Thorne and Ben Pelz have each seen time in between the posts for a .636 team save-percentage with Thorne awarded all three victories and 18 saves for LCU.
LAST TIME OUT
The Buffs suffered their first loss of the season to St. Mary's last weekend to move to 7-1-0 on the season. WT opened scoring in the 4
th-minute with
Rotem Weiss' second goal of the season before the Rattlers evened the playing field until Cain Foley added two to the board.

The Buffs have outscored opponents 22-13, averaging 2.75 goals per match on 17.6 shots which ranks first in the conference including a .489 shot-on-goal percentage. Saldana has scored a conference-high nine goals followed by

Ben Siri leads the offense with four assists. WT's defense has limited opponents to 9.6 shots per match with goalkeeper
Tom Miles recording with 15 saves for a .652 save-percentage.
USC DIVISION II TOP-25
WT moved to sixth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Men's Soccer Top-25 rankings. The Buffs are one of two programs from the Lone Star Conference ranked in the national standings joined by Midwestern State at 11
th.
REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Buffs continue to stand in first in the South Central Regional rankings followed by Midwestern State, Colorado Mesa, CSU-Pueblo, Regis, Colorado School of Mines, St. Mary's, Fort Lewis, Colorado Christian and UT-Tyler.
BUTCH LAUFFER
Butch Lauffer is in his 31st season as head men's soccer coach at West Texas A&M University. As the longest tenured head coach in WT history, Lauffer has coached the men to 29 consecutive non-losing seasons and the women to 12-plus victories in 12 seasons. Lauffer has recorded a 357-158-39 (.681) record at the helm of the Buffs with a 546-225-56 (.695) overall record at WT.
