LAWTON, Okla. - West Texas A&M's put five runners in the Top 15 including individual champion
Innocent Murwanashyaka as they won their ninth straight Lon Star Conference Championship on Saturday morning in Lawton, Okla.
The Buffs secured their ninth title in as many tries scoring 42 points, their highest point total during the streak. St. Edward's finished second with 143 points with Dallas Baptist in third (145) and UT Tyler in fourth (150).
Murwanashyaka became the fifth runner in program history to win the individual title as the junior from St. Paul, Minn. covered the 8-kilometer course in 25:16.51, 22 seconds ahead of UT Permian Basin Erik Flores.
Ezekiel Kipchirchir finished fourth in 25:48.11 with
Briggs Wittlake running 26:00.19 to finish eighth.
Jay Hall finished 14
th(26:21.08) with
Gustavo Posada in 15
th (26:21.62) and
Noah Bundrock in 16
th (26:28.97).
Harry Louradour also finished 27
th (26:56.41) with
Daniel Camarillo in 103
rd (30:59.82).
