SAN ANGELO, Texas – Friday night's Lone Star Conference series opener lived up to the hype as the #1 Angelo State Rams used a walkoff sac fly in the bottom of the 11
th inning to take a thrilling 5-4 victory over the #14 Buffaloes in front of over 1,500 fans at Foster Field in San Angelo, Texas.
The Buffs and Rams continue their series tomorrow afternoon with a pair of seven-inning contests beginning at 4 p.m. at Foster Field.

The Buffs jumped out to an early lead as
Kyle Moos singled to left field with two outs to score
Cade Engle from second for the 1-0 advantage. The Rams responded in the home half of the second as Nick Seginowich singled up the middle to drive in Aaron Walters to tie the game at 1-1.
Angelo took their first lead of the game in the fourth on a Justin Lee RBI single to left field with two outs to plate Nick Novak at 2-0. WT answered back in the top of the sixth inning as
Clay Koelzer crushed a solo bomb into the bullpen beyond the right field fence to tie the game again at 2-2.
ASU retook the lead in the home half of the seventh inning on a Brad Mathiowetz infield single to third that scored Tyler Mendoza, WT responded again in the top of the eight as Koelzer singled thru the right side with two outs to drive in
Cade Engle and make it 3-3.
The Buffs used the long ball again in the top of the ninth inning as
Justin Martinez lifted a solo shot to left field with one out for the 4-3 lead. ASU tied the game again in the home half of the frame as Seginowich flied out to center with two on and one out before a big strikeout ended the inning and send the teams into extras.
The teams traded zeroes in the 10
th before the Rams loaded the bases with one out in the home half of the 11th as Seginowich lifted a sac fly to right field with Josh Elvir tagging up to score for the walkoff 5-4 win.
Carter Brown picked up the loss (0-1) on the mound for the Buffs as the senior allowed two earned runs on two hits with four walks and two strikeouts in his 2.0+ innings of relief.
