CANYON, Texas – The #16 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to nine games on Sunday afternoon highlighted by a five-run comeback in the opener in Lone Star Conference action at Wilder Park in Canyon, Texas.

The Buffs host their final regular season home series on Easter Weekend as they take on the UT Permian Basin Falcons in a four-game Lone Star Conference series starting on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at Wilder Park.

GAME ONE RECAP:
The Buffs got on the board in the bottom of the first inning as
Keone Givens scored from third base on a
Clay Koelzer RBI groundout to first for the 1-0 lead, WT added to their lead in the second as Givens singled thru the left side to score
Cade Engle and run the lead to 2-0.

The Texans responded in the top of the third as Colby Seltzer doubled to the warning track in right center to drive in Jacob Walker and cut the lead to 2-1. TSU tied the game in the top of the fourth inning as Sam Scarborough singled to right center with two outs to score Jake Spence followed by RBI doubles by Walker and Nate Sumner to knock
Zach Dixon from the game,
Brennen Geraghty entered and allowed a pair of hits to score three more Texans before
Mitchell Miller was called upon from the pen as the Clemson transfer picked up a big strikeout to strand the bases loaded at 7-2.

WT cut into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning as
Justice Nakagawa scored from third on a wild pitch with two outs to make it 7-3. The Buffs wouldn't go down without a fight as
Cade Engle singled to third with the bases loaded and one out to drive in
Kyle Kaufman followed by a Nakagawa sac fly to right to make it 7-5, WT would load the bases with a Givens walk before
Tanner Schuetz ended the game with a walkoff three-run double to left center for the 8-7 win.

Miller was great out of the pen for the Buffs, allowing no runs on two hits with one walk and a career-high eight strikeouts to pick up the victory (2-0) with 3.1 innings of relief.

GAME TWO RECAP:
The Texans took an early lead in the series finale as Tyler Park doubled to the left center field gap to drive in a pair and make it 2-0. WT answered back in the home half of the frame as
Justin Martinez grounded out to second to score Schuetz followed by a wild pitch as Kaufman crossed the plate at 2-2.

Tarleton retook the lead in the top of the second as they scored one on a fielder's choice groundout as Nakagawa made a great defensive play to hold TSU to just the single run at 3-2. WT responded again in the home half as Schuetz singled home Nakagawa followed by a Kaufman RBI double to left center to retake the lead at 4-3.

TSU plated a pair in the top of the third to retake the lead again before
Nick Guaragna lifted a solo shot to left center with two outs at 5-5. The Texans responded again in the top of the fourth as Parker lifted a two-run shot to center field to knock
Drew Mesecher from the mound,
Todd Danzeisen entered and stranded a pair with a flyout to right at 7-5. The Buffs tied the game up once again in the bottom of the fourth with a pair of runs at 7-7.

The Buffs took the lead again in the fifth as a wild pitch scored Guaragna followed by a Schuetz RBI single to short and a wild pitch that scored Scheutz later in the frame to make it 10-7, Tarleton cut into the lead in the next half inning with a pair of runs to make it 10-9. WT added insurance runs in the home half of the eighth as Nakagawa scored from third on a wild pitch with one out followed by a
Darius Carter double to left center to make it 12-9.
