Mesecher gave up his first hit on a Lachlan Mayo single to left with one out in the fourth followed by a catcher's interference with two outs before the senior forced a fielder's choice grounder to Darius Carter at third to strand a pair.

The Buffs threatened in the home half of the fifth with a pair of hits to bring the top of the order to the plate but a groundout to second with runners on the corners ended the frame still scoreless.

Jordan Williams led off the sixth with a single up the middle followed by a Mayo single to put runners on second and third with no outs, Mesecher registered a big strikeout before WT made a move to the pen with Dominic Yearego. Riley Peterson singled thru the right side followed by a pair of errors by the Buffs to allow two more to score, Parker Tadlock was hit by a pitch to drive in another followed by a wild pitch with two outs to make it 5-0.
