FRISCO, Texas – The #16 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs continued to prove themselves as the region's top team as WT claimed their second straight and 15
thoverall Lone Star Conference Tournament Title with a 71-55 victory over the #22 Belles of Angelo State on Sunday afternoon at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Lexy Hightower who went 5-of-13 from the floor for 13 points followed by
Deleyah Harris with 12 to go along with 11 boards for a double-double,
Abby Spurgin rejected an incredible nine shots to go along with eight points and five rebounds. All three Lady Buffs earned All-Tournament accolades as Spurgin was named the MVP.
- Spurgin set a new LSC Championship single-game record with nine blocks on the afternoon which is tied for second most in a game in Lady Buff history with Alicia Saunders (at MSU Texas, 2/22/06). The Lady Buffs move to 56-17 all-time in the LSC Championship as they have claimed seven of the 12 crowns since the neutral site format was introduced in 2008.
- De'Anira Moore led the way for the Belles as she went 5-of-11 from the floor and 6-of-10 from the free throw line for 16 points to go along with five rebounds and three blocks, Marquita Daniels finished the afternoon with 10 points while Dezirae Hampton had seven assists and eight boards to go along with nine points.

FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs finished the first half going 12-of-27 (44.4%) from the floor including 3-od-10 (30%) from behind the arc and 8-of-9 (88.9%) from the free throw line with 21 rebounds (five offensive, 16 defensive), seven assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and three steals.
- Angelo State went 12-of-33 (36.4%) from the field in the first half including 1-of-5 (20%) from deep and 3-of-5 (60%) from the charity stripe with 15 rebounds (six offensive, nine defensive), six assists, six turnovers, four blocks and four steals.
SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 25-of-55 (45.5%) from the floor including 4-of-15 (26.7%) from deep and 17-of-22 (77.3%) from the free throw line with 47 total rebounds (14 offensive, 33 defensive), 13 assists, 18 turnovers, five steals and 11 blocks.
- The Belles went 22-of-69 (31.9%) from the field in the game including 3-of-19 (15.8%) from behind the arc and 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the charity stripe with 33 rebounds (16 offensive, 17 defensive), 14 assists, nine turnovers, seven steals and six blocks on the afternoon.
