Biography
2017-18 (Junior):
Haynes was a staple on the court for the Lady Buffs during her junior campaign in 2017-18 as the Gruver product saw time in 34 contests off the bench, averaging 16.7 minutes per game. She went 36-of-118 (30.5%) from the field including 29-of-88 (33%) from deep and 26-of-29 (89.7%) from the free throw line to average 3.7 points per game. Haynes dished out 55 assists to go along with three blocks, 19 steals and 38 total rebounds (seven offensive, 31 defensive) to average 1.1 per contest.
2016-17 (Sophomore):
The talented guard played in 16 games as a sophomore for the Lady Buffs in 2016-17. She went 11-of-29 (37.9%) including 8-of-17 (47.1%) from behind the arc and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the charity stripe. She pulled down 10 rebounds with 18 assists and 13 steals, while scoring 2.2 points per game and averaging 11.9 minutes per game. Haynes earned the prestigious NCAA Elite 90 Award at the Elite Eight with the highest cumulative grade-point average of any student-athlete at the national championship with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
2015-16 (Freshman):
Haynes aw action in 16 games as a true freshman for the Lady Buffs in 2015-16. The Gruver product went 7-of-17 (41.2%) from the field with four triples and 6-of-8 (75%) from the free throw line. Had six rebounds with five assists, two steals and two blocks, while scoring 24 points and averaging 6.3 minutes per game.
At Gruver High School:
Haynes graduated from nearby Gruver High School as she averaged 10.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a junior for head coach Trent Lankford. She helped her team go 45-16 over her final two seasons at GHS and was named District Most Valuable Player as a sophomore. She was a TABC All-Region selection as a junior and First Team All-District. Haynes was named to the Second Team Panhandle Plains Basketball Magazine Super Team. She had a 4.0 GPA and was a member of National Honor Society, Student Council and a state qualifier in computer applications.
Personal:
Born April 18, 1997. Parents are John and Shell Haynes and she has two siblings, Connor and Hunter. Majoring in Sports & Exercise Science at West Texas A&M.
