CANYON, Texas – The #22 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M saw their underclassmen score 61 combined points on Thursday night as they started fast and rolled past the Western New Mexico Mustangs, 87-37 in Lone Star Conference action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Abby Spurgin who set a new career high in points and rebounds as the sophomore went 6-fo-11 from the floor and 13-of-13 from the stripe with 25 points and 15 boards,
Delaney Nix and
Braylyn Dollar also set new career highs while Spurgin and Dollar had double-doubles in the win.
- Ciara Fields led the way for the Mustangs as she went 4-of-10 from the floor and 5-of-5 from the free throw line with 14 points followed by Tatyanna McFarland with 12, McFarland finished the night with a double-double as she grabbed 11 rebounds while dishing out three assists.

FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs finished the first half going 15-of-23 (65.2%) from the floor including 6-of-11 (54.5%) from deep and 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line with 19 rebounds (five offensive, 14 defensive), eight assists, 11 turnovers, five steals and three blocks.
- Western New Mexico went 6-of-23 (26.1%) from the field in the first half including 0-of-6 from behind the arc and 6-of-9 (66.7%) from the charity stripe with seven rebounds (two offensive, five defensive), two assists, 10 turnovers, seven steals and no blocks.
SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 25-of-54 (46.3%) from the floor including 8-of-22 (36.4%) from deep and 29-of-36 (80.6%) from the free throw line with 51 rebounds (15 offensive, 36 defensive), 15 assists, 20 turnovers, nine steals and six blocks in the win.
