CANYON, Texas –The #17 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M extracted a little revenge and stayed atop of the Lone Star Conference standings with a big road victory in Stephenville, Texas on Thursday night as they took a lead early in the second period and never looked back in a 76-62 victory over the Tarleton TexAnns at Wisdom Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Lexy Hightower who went 10-of-17 from the floor including 4-of-7 from deep for a game-high 25 points followed by
Abby Spurgin with 14 and
Tyesha Taylor with 10, Spurgin grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double while
Megan Gamble and
Nathalie Linden dished out five assists each.
- Mackenzie Hailey led the way for the TexAnns as she went 9-of-14 from the floor to finish the night with 19 points followed by Kaylee Allen with 16 and McKinley Bostad with 13, Katie Webster grabbed eight rebounds while Bostad dished out five assists in the loss.
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs finished the first half going 16-of-28 (57.1%) from the floor including 5-of-10 (50%) from behind he arc and 2-of-2 from the free throw line with 17 rebounds (five offensive, 12 defensive), 12 assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and one steal.
- Tarleton went 14-of-33 (42.4%) from the field in the first half including 3-o0f-6 (50%) from deep and 6-of-8 (75%) from the charity stripe with 15 total rebounds (eight offensive, seven defensive), nine assists, four turnovers, three blocks and five steals.
SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 30-of-56 (53.6%) from the floor including 7-of-17 (41.2%) from behind the arc and 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the free throw line with 38 total rebounds (13 offensive, 25 defensive), 21 assists, 13 turnovers, six blocks and six steals on the night.
- The TexAnns went 25-of-59 (42.4%) from the field including 4-of-11 (36.4%) from deep and 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the charity stripe with 27 rebounds (11 offensie, 16 defensive), 12 assists, 14 turnovers, four blocks and 10 steals in the loss.
