CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M (4-3-1, 1-2-1 LSC) begin a four-game road trip as they head to Portales, N.M., to take on Eastern New Mexico (7-3-1, 0-3-1 LSC) for a nonconference match on October 17. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on Thursday against the Greyhounds.
SCOUTING EASTERN NEW MEXICO
Eastern New Mexico is 0-2-1 in their last three matches, falling to St. Mary's and #12 Texas A&M International. The Greyhounds hold a 0-3-1 conference record (7-3-1 overall) to stand ninth in the Lone Star.
ENMU averages 1.82 goals per game on 11.8 shots for a .154 percentage. Ten ENMU players have scored this season led by Joe Conway. The sophomore has recorded a team-high 10 points with four goals.
Dalton Ross has tallied every minute in between the pipes for the Greyhounds, allowing 11 goals for a .97 goals against average with 51 saves, including eight against the Buffs in their last meeting.
ENMU is coached by second season head coach Jon Fridal who has directed the Hounds to a 15-11-3 overall record (.569). The Western Illinois alum helped the Greyhounds place third in the Heartland Conference West Division and eighth overall in the conference standings last season.
THE SERIES
Thursday's match will be the 32
nd time WT and ENMU have met on the pitch with the Buffs leading the all-time series record, 21-7-4. The Buffs recorded their 21
st victory against the Greyhounds in a Top-10 match earlier in the season with a 3-1 win at home. ENMU took an early lead in the ninth minute but was responded by WT as
Jean-Luc Ramdin followed up on a rebound from the Greyhounds keeper for the Buffs to level the match.
Kenny Brown added another two goals, including the game-winner, to secure a 3-1 victory.
COACH LAUFFER
Butch Lauffer enters his 29
th season as the head men's soccer coach at WT. Lauffer is the longest tenured coach in WTAMU history in an acclaimed career starting in 1991. The Texas Christian alum led the Buffs to 17 victories last season for one of the best seasons in program history, setting a new record for most wins in a single season. With the Buffs, Lauffer has recorded a 337-151-38 (.678) record with the Buffs and a 527-218-55 (.692) overall record at WT.
LAST TIME OUT
The Buffs register a 4-3-1 overall record after recording a 1-0 loss to #12 Texas A&M International on Thursday before falling to St. Mary's, 3-1, on Saturday. The Buffs, now 1-2-1 in conference play, stand sixth in the Lone Star.
Two freshmen came off the bench to make an impact in the Buffs match against St. Mary's.
Beau Johnson scored for the Buffs to record his first collegiate goal as he finished a pass from
Trevor Carpani, who made his college debut.
AROUND THE LONE STAR
Midwestern State leads the Lone Star Conference for the second consecutive week with a 4-0 conference record (9-1 overall), moving up three spots to sixth in the national-rankings. Texas A&M International (8-1-1, 4-1 LSC) follows and ranks 12
th in the national polls. St. Mary's (7-2-1, 4-1 LSC) made their way on to the United Soccer Coaches Top-25, ranking 19
th in the nation and third in the Lone Star.

WT has outscored their opponents 12-10 as five Buffs have scored this season led by sophomore midfielder
Kenny Brown. The Liverpool, England, native has recorded eight points with a team-high four goals.
