Costly Turnovers Doom #14 West Texas A&M in Wichita Falls, 66-61

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The #14 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M failed to find a rhythm offensively on Thursday night as they turned the ball over a season-high 24 times to snap an 11-game win streak over the rival Mustangs of MSU Texas in front of over 1,000 fans at D.L. Ligon Coliseum in Lone Star Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Deleyah Harris who went 7-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-8 from the free throw line to end the night with 18 points followed by Tyesha Taylor with 11, Megan Gamble grabbed eight rebounds to go along with nine assists.
- Chelcie Kizart led the way for the Mustangs as she went 5-of-9 from the floor and 2-of-3 from behind the arc to score 15 points on the night followed by Liz Cathcart with 11, Haevyn Risley grabbed a team-high eight rebounds while Kizart and Mica Schneider dished out four assists each.
 
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs went 13-of-28 (46.4%) from the floor in the opening half including 1-of-6 (16.7%) from behind the arc and 5-of-8 (62.5%) from the free throw line with 20 rebounds (six offensive, 14 defensive), nine assists, 13 turnovers, three blocks and seven steals.
- MSU finished the first half going 12-of-36 (33.3%) from the floor including 2-of-7 (29%) from deep and 4-of-8 (50%) from the charity stripe with 22 rebounds (12 offensive, 10 defensive), seven assists, nine turnovers, four blocks and seven steals.

SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 24-of-52 (46.2%) from the floor including 1-of-9 (11.1%) from behind the arc and 12-of-22 (54.5%) from the charity stripe with 36 rebounds (10 offensive, 26 defensive), 17 assists, 24 turnovers, six blocks and 13 steals on the night.
