#8 Lady Buffs Return Home and Shoot Past Texas A&M-Commerce, 81-70

CANYON, Texas – The #8 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M shot 52.8% from the floor on Thursday night as they topped the Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce in Lone Star Conference action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon, Texas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Lexy Hightower who went 7-of-11 from the floor and 2-of-3 from deep for 19 points followed by Abby Spurgin with 15 and Deleyah Harris with 12 to go along with 10 rebounds for a double-double, Megan Gamble dished out seven assists with four steals while Spurgin had six blocks.
- Chania Wright led the way for the Lions as she went 5-of-13 from the floor and 2-of-3 from the free throw line followed by Alexus Jones and Maddison Glass with 10 points each, Agang Tac and Princess Davis grabbed five boards while Davis dished out two assists.
 
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs went 14-of-26 (53.8%) from the floor including 1-of-4 (25%) from deep and 9-of-11 (81.8%) from the free throw line with 16 total rebounds (three offensive, 13 defensive), 10 assists, eight turnvoers, four steals and four blocks.
- Texas A&M-Commerce finished the first half going 13-of-34 (28.2%) from the field including 2-of-5 (40%) from behind the arc and 3-of-9 (33.3%) from the charity stripe with 17 rebounds (seven offensive, 10 defensive), two assists, six turnovers, four steals and no blocks.

SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 28-of-53 (52.8%) from the floor including 4-of-11 (36.4%) from deep and 21-of-28 (75%) from the free throw line with 34 rebounds (seven offensive, 27 defensive), 19 assists, 18 turnovers, 12 steals and seven blocks in the win.
