CANYON, Texas – The #17 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M continue their homestand on Saturday afternoon as they host the Patriots of Dallas Baptist in Heartland Conference action starting at 1 p.m. at The Pitch inside of the Buffalo Sports Complex in Canyon.

The Patriots enter the weekend with an overall record of 3-11-1 with a 1-10-0 mark in Heartland Conference play following a 3-0 road loss at Eastern New Mexico on Thursday night to extend their losing streak to seven matches.

DBU is led offensively by Riley Unger with five goals on the season for 10 overall points. The Patriots average 0.67 goals per game on 135 total shots with 55 of those falling on goal. Tristen Olvera is 2-4-1 in goal for DBU, allowing 18 goals with 31 saves for a percentage of .633.

Chip Dutchik enters his fourth season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Dallas Baptist University. In 2017, Dutchik guided the Patriots to a seven-win season, their second highest win total since the soccer program returned to the DBU campus in 2012.

WT HEAD COACH BUTCH LAUFFER
Butch Lauffer enters his 28th season as head men's soccer coach at West Texas A&M. Lauffer is now the longest tenured head coach in West Texas A&M history in a storied career dating back to 1991. Lauffer reached the 500-win plateau on September 30th of last season in Odessa, Texas with a dominating 13-2 win over UT Permian Basin.

During his tenure, Lauffer has coached the men to 26 consecutive non-losing seasons and the women to 12-plus victories in 12 seasons. Lauffer has recorded a 327-147-35 (.661) record at the helm of the Buffs with a 517-214-52 (.680) overall record at WT.

Entering the week, the Buffs ranked fourth in the nation in total points (128.0) and goals scored (45.0) . WT ranked sixth in shots per game (18.64) and seventh in scoring offense (3.21) and total assists (38.0) while sitting eighth in points per game (9.14) and 10th in assists per game (2.71).
