CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M bounced back from a loss earlier in the day as they registered 12 blocks in a win over McKendree (25-16, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17) on Saturday night to conclude the 2016 BritKare Lady Buff Classic at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon. The Lady Buffs improve to 2-2 overall while the Bearcats fall to 1-3 on the season.
 
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by senior outside hitter Cori Haley with 14 kills on 35 swings with four errors to hit .286 on the night to go along with six digs while Crystal Thomas tallied eight kills followed by Elisa Bentsen with five. Selena Batiste dished out  team high 17 assists followed by Kyli Schulz with 13 while Michaela Montgomery led WT with 11 digs. West Texas A&M registered 40 kills on 121 swings with 21 errors to hit .157 on the night with 36 assists, 52 digs and 12 total blocks.
 
The Bearcats were led by Allison Schneider with a match high 19 kills on 41 swings with 11 attack errors to hit .195 on the night to go along with a match high 12 digs for a double-double while Arela Williams registered 13 kills followed by Sophie Fariman with 10. Aubry Dickmann led all players with 24 assists while Breanna Howe tallied 11 digs. McKendree registered 49 kills on 145 swings with 33 attack errors to hit .110 as a team with 48 assists, 51 digs and seven total blocks.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Buffs make their first road trip of the season next weekend as they head to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 2016 UINdy Invitational with matchups scheduled against North Alabama, Ashland, Lock Haven and the host Greyhounds at the Ruth Lilley Center.
