CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M battled back to hand #8 Angelo State their first LSC loss of the season while snapping ASU's five match win streak as WT topped the Belles (25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 27-25, 15-11) in front of over 700 fans at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Buffs improve to 7-5 (3-1 LSC) on the season while the Belles fall to 13-2 (4-1 LSC) with the loss.

The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Cori Haley with 18 kills on 43 swings with three attack errors to hit .349 on the afternoon followed by
Michaela Montgomery and
Elisa Bentsen with 13 kills each,
Selena Batiste registered a career high 50 assists to go along with 10 digs for a double-double while senior libero
Lauren Britten led the Lady Buffs with 26 digs. WT registered 64 kills on 163 swings with 18 attack errors to hit .282 as a team with 59 assists, 74 digs and four total blocks in the win.

Angelo State was led by Brianna Sotello with a match high 22 kills on 44 swings with four attack errors to hit .409 followed by Mallory Blauser with 19 kills and Abbie Lynn with 16, Meghan Parker led all players with 61 assists while Brooke Robertson paced the ASU defense with a team high 17 digs. ASU registered 74 kills on 175 swings with 20 attack errors to hit .309 in the match with 69 assists, 66 digs and 11 total blocks.

The Lady Buffs head to Odessa, Texas for a matchup with the Falcons of UT Permian Basin with first serve set for 7 p.m. at the Falcon Dome. UTPB (5-8, 1-3 LSC) fell in straight sets to Tarleton State in Odessa on Saturday afternoon.
