CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs will begin the second half of Lone Star Conference action on Tuesday night as they head to Portales, New Mexico for a matchup with the rival Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico with first serve set for 7 p.m. CT.

The Greyhounds are led by fourth year head coach Sia Poyer who has led ENMU to 34 victories entering this season including leading the Greyhounds to last year's Lone Star Conference Tournament.

Eastern New Mexico enters the weekend with an overall record of 10-12 with a 5-5 mark in LSC play following losses to Tarleton State and #11 Angelo State last weekend.

The Hounds are led offensively by reigning Lauren Frye with 339 kills on 707 attempts with 125 attack errors to hit .303 on the season and average 4.35 kills per frame, Alexis Aguirre paces the ENMU offense with 525 assists (6.73/set) while Andrea Aguilar leads the way defensively with 320 digs to average 4.85 per frame.

The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series against the rival Greyhounds, 65-12 with WT taking the last meeting between the two teams in straight sets back on October 1
st in Canyon. The Lady Buffs are 24-9 all-time in Portales as the Greyhounds snapped a nine-game home losing streak against the Lady Buffs with a four set win inside of Greyhound Arena last season.

The Lady Buffs dropped the opening two frames and hit .080 as a team on Friday night as they fell in a four set decision to the Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce (21-25, 17-25, 25-23, 15-25) inside of the TAMUC Fieldhouse in Commerce, Texas.

WT was led offensively by
Cori Haley with 11 kills on 37 swings with three attack errors to hit .216 on the night followed by
Elisa Bentsen and
Libby Strickland with eight kills each,
Selena Batiste paced the WT offense with 28 assists to go along with 10 digs for the double-double while
Lauren Britten returned to the court with 28 digs on the night. The Lady Buffs registered 36 kills on 136 swings with 23 attack errors to hit just .080 on the night with 32 assists, 71 digs and just three total blocks in the loss.

WT committed 25 attack errors and hit just .171 as a team but a strong fifth set lifted WT to a thrilling win over the Pioneers of Texas Woman's (25-19, 13-25, 25-21, 10-25, 15-13) on Saturday afternoon in Denton, Texas.

Libby Strickland with 12 kills,
Selena Batiste dished out 47 assists in the win while

Kyli Schulz with 18. WT tallied 58 kills on 193 swings with 25 attack errors to hit .171 on the afternoon with 57 assists, 91 digs and six total blocks.

West Texas A&M is fortunate to have one of the best home environments in all of NCAA Volleyball, in any division. The WTAMU Fieldhouse is more affectionately known as "The Box," is home to 19 Lone Star Conference Championships, 13 Regional Titles and three NCAA Division II National Championships. Jason Skoch, a four-time Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year, is now in his eighth season at the helm of the Lady Buffs, carrying an overall career record of 364-75 (.834, 12th year including a 228-55 (.813) mark in Canyon. Skoch has led the Lady Buffs to seven appearances in the NCAA Postseason with three South Central Regional Titles and a National Runner-Up finish in 2009.

Lauren Britten is making her way up the program's all-time digs list as the Amarillo High School alumni currently sits in fourth place in the WT record books with 1,896 career digs. She is one of only nine Lady Buffs in history with atleast 1,500 career digs and the Amarillo native currently sits 254 digs behind Brittani Bell (2,150 / 2002-05) for third place all-time.
