Trio of Lady Buffs Earn AVCA All-Region Recognition

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Taytum Stow, Currie Marusak and Emma Becker added to their already impressive resumes on Wednesday afternoon as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced their annual All-Region selection.
 
All three Lady Buffs claimed First Team All-South Central Region accolades to move onto the national ballot for All-American consideration.
 
Stow, the three-time Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year, has become one of the top players in Division II Volleyball during her storied career. The Hereford, Texas product set new school all-time marks in total blocks and solo blocks this season while leading the Lady Buffs to the program's 32nd NCAA Tournament. Stow has tallied 265 kills with an attack percentage of .389 to go along with 19 service aces, 69 digs and an incredible 143 total blocks to average 1.36 per set. Stow earned First Team All-Region accolades from the D2CCA.
 
Marusak has led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs during her senior campaign in 2025. The Amarillo High School alum has a team-best 375 kills on 919 swings for an attack percentage of .257 to go along with 13 aces, 254 digs and 44 blocks for a team-leading 413.5 points to average 3.94 per set as she was named to the All-Lone Star Conference First Team as well as the LSC Championship All-Tournament Team. Marusak was named a Second Team-All Region selection by the D2CCA.
 
Becker earned her third straight AVCA First Team All-Region honor as the Liberty Hill, Texas product has registered 326 kills with a .218 attack percentage to go along with 17 assists, 10 service aces, 240 digs and 61 total blocks for a total of 372.5 points to average 3.55 per set. Becker was a First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection.
 
Angelo State's Madi Parrish was named the AVCA South Central Region Player of the Year while MSU Denver's Karyna Werley earned Regional Freshman of the Year honors. MSUD's Jenny Glenn was selected the South Central Region Coach of the Year.
 
The Lady Buffs open the NCAA Tournament tomorrow night as they battle fifth-seeded CSU Pueblo in the quarterfinal round with first serve set for 8:00 p.m. CT at the Auraria Event Center in Denver, Colorado.
