Â
The Greyhounds were clicking offensively from the beginning in Portales on Sunday afternoon. Within the opening five minutes, they were able to generate two corner kick opportunities leading to a couple of shot attempts by Jose Hernandez, one sent wide followed by another stopped by Satorie, while Satorie also had to make a save on Carlos Viveros.
Â

Alex Cervantes in the 10
th minute. Freshman
Axel Insulander and sophomore
Ryan Kennedy then added header attempts in the 13
th minute.
Â
Satorie would be pressure consistently before the break on Sunday starting near the 30
th minute. Jose Hernandez and John Jamison would each get good looks on-goal, but WT's sophomore keeper positioned himself for save on each occasion.
Â
Freshman
Brandon Bautista would get one final crack at the net for the Buffs before halftime at the 43:38 mark leading to a closing save by Gutierrez.
Â
At the break, ENMU led in total shots, 9-6, and also held the advantage in shots-on-goal, 4-3. Cervantes and Insulander led the way for WT with two attempts each.
Â

Â
WT's best chance in the second half came from sophomore
Christian Suthers. He placed a good shot-on-goal for the Buffs in the 84
th minute from the far left wing, making Gutierrez slide in for a tough save. From that point through the end of regulation, the Greyhounds would occupy their attacking third of the field making Satorie come up with a couple of key stops to send the game into extra time.
Â
Senior
Christopher Hutton would get two shots at the goal in the first extra period for the Buffs, including the only shot-on-goal overall, but nothing would give for either side after 100 minutes.
Â
The Buffs tallied three more attempts in the second overtime period, including a close header by Bautista in the 105
th minute that was stopped by Gutierrez. That would be the final real threat in the match that ended in a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of play on the pitch.
