The win ended the Buffs' three-game losing streak as they now improve to 7-5 with their third game of the season scoring over five goals. With the loss, the struggling Falcons fall to 1-9-1 overall on the season.
Senior
Vitor Cardoso led the way for the Buffs as he played a part in all of WT's first three goals, scoring the opening two followed by dishing out an assist on the second. Sophomore
Patrick Satorie got the win in goal for the Buffs and improves to 5-5 on the season. Eric Beltran took the loss after allowing seven goals and tallying six saves.

The Buffs got off to a hot start on Thursday in Odessa, generating six-straight shots throughout the first 13 minutes of play. Only the first in that stretch would be placed on the mark, a strike from senior
Christopher Hutton 20 yards out which was stopped by Beltran.
Cardoso would then open the floodgates at the 16:46 mark after being taken down in the box off a breakaway. He would step up to the line to remain perfect (5-for-5) from PKs after sinking the free shot, giving the Buffs the early 1-0 lead.
Less than three minutes later, Cardoso found the net again for his team-high sixth goal of the season. The Falcons turned the ball over deep in their own zone after a takeaway by
Christopher Hutton who crossed to the right side, allowing Cardoso to volley the second goal in the net over Beltran's reach.
Around the 21
st minute, Buffs were awarded a corner kick, giving Cardoso another hand in on the team's third goal of the afternoon. He picked up the assist as freshman
Ombrai Oguoko grabbed his first goal of the season after sending a missile into the netting from the close left wing.
Under 60 seconds after Oguoko's goal, junior
Austin Henderson chipped in his first score of the season as he took a ball from the right side, assisted by freshman
Axel Insulander, and found the net near the far post.
The Buffs would get five more shots off after a flood of substitutions before the break and still found the net for a fifth time. Sophomore
Chris Johnson did the damage this time from inside the box with just six seconds to spare in the first frame for his fifth score of the season.
At the break, the Buffs held a very sufficient lead in shots, 14-2. WT placed half of those shots on target. Leading the way was Cardoso with four, followed by Henderson and Hutton with two each.
It did not take long into the second half for WT to add to the lead as Hutton tallied his fourth goal of the year in just the 53
rd minute. The senior found the net from 15 yards out after a long pass down the right side from sophomore
Harry Osborne. The Falcons grabbed their lone goal of the night shortly after at the 59:16 mark off the foot of Stephen Okoro.
Freshman
Alex Cervantes would cap off the Buffs' scoring onslaught in the 62
nd minute. He scored his second goal of the season with a shot from the top of the 18-yard box which found the upper left corner of the net after deflecting off the keeper.
With the win, the Buffs remain undefeated in the all-time series against UTPB with a 13-0 record.
