CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M claimed a fourth place finish at the 2025 Aggie Duels on Friday morning to open the 2025 cross country campaign.
 
Adrian Legarreta paced the Buffs as the Friona native registered a time of 24:54.93 to finish fifth on the 8K course.
 
Branch Cox finished eighth during his first race in Maroon & White with a time of 25:10.40 followed by Adrian Solis in 21^st(26:36.49), Jordan Purcell in 32^nd (28:07.59) and Rudy Juarez in 33^rd (28:19.14).
 
The Oklahoma Sooner claimed the team crown with a total score of 23 points followed by East Central (73), Cameron (85), West Texas A&M (91) and Amarillo College (108) to round out the top five.
 
WT returns to the course next Friday as they make the short trip down Interstate 27 to compete in the Texas Tech Invite hosted at the LCU Cross Country Course.
