WT Soccer Community Night Set for October 2nd at Happy State Bank Stadium

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M women's soccer will host their first Community Night on Thursday, October 2nd at Happy State Bank Field in Canyon, Texas as the Lady Buffs take on the Rattlers of St. Mary's in Lone Star Conference action.

This special event is more than just a game—it's a chance for local schools and communities to raise funds, rally school spirit, and cheer on the Lady Buffs.

The Lady Buffs went 1-0-1 during their opening week of action, topping New Mexico Highlands 2-1 in the opener last Thursday before battling Adams State to a 0-0 draw on Saturday in Canyon. Turk Ozturk was named the third head coach in the history of the Lady Buff Soccer program on December 19, 2024.

A Message from Head Coach Turk Ozturk
"When I first arrived at WT in January 2025, our Vice President of Athletics, Doug Lipinski, shared with me his vision of building a championship-caliber program. This went far beyond just winning on the field — it was about excelling in every aspect: in the classroom, in the community, and in the overall student-athlete experience.

The buzz around this event has been incredible. Our team is honored and energized by the support we've received, and we are proud to represent WT Athletics, our university, and our amazing community. October 2nd is shaping up to be a truly special night — one filled with excitement, pride, and lasting memories.

WT continues to set the standard for what it means to support its student-athletes, and we're beyond grateful to be a part of that tradition. We can't wait to take the field, and with your support, we hope to make history together."
