ORLANDO, FLORIDA – West Texas A&M Women's Soccer junior
Riley Sims was once again named Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA) Women's Soccer National Athlete of the Week as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. Sims recorded her second straight hat trick in the Lady Buffs 3-1 upset victory over No. 8 Midwestern State while WT went 2-0-0 on the week.
Sims became the first player in the game-by-game era (2011+) to record consecutive games with a hat trick in the Lady Buffs 3-1 win against previously unbeaten No. 8 Midwestern State on Wednesday. The Harker Heights, Texas native scored in the 5th, 13th, and 17th minute to help WT knock off the Mustangs.

For the week, she tied for the conference lead in goals (3) and points (6) while finishing third in shots with nine. Sims was also named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week and is the first player in the country to be named D2CIDA National Player of the Week twice this season.
Sims and the rest of the Lady Buffs will be back in action today as they take on UT Permian Basin at 3:00 p.m.
