Division II Results (Overall Standings / Conference Standings)
CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Athletics has finished third in the Division II Learfield Director's Cup standings announced on Tuesday afternoon by the association's offices in Cleveland, Ohio.
It marks the seventh straight and ninth overall time that West Texas A&M has finished inside of the Top 10 including the sixth straight inside of the Top 5. WT finished the season with 806.25 points to finish third behind Wingate (837.25) and 17-time winner Grand Valley State (1,080.50).

In the fall Lady Buff Cross Country picked up 90 points as they finished as the NCAA Division II National Runner-Up while the Buffs claimed 80 points for their fourth-place finish in Sacramento. Lady Buff Volleyball's run to the South Central Regional Semifinals added 50 points for the Maroon & White.
The winter scoring season saw Lady Buff Basketball claim 50 points on their run to the Regional Semifinals while Buffalo Basketball's appearance in the Regional Quarterfinals is worth 25 points. Indoor Track & Field claimed 146.25 total points with sixth place finishes in Indianapolis (72.75 Women / 73.5 Men).
The spring saw the Maroon & White claim 365.00 points with 167.5 of those coming in outdoor track & field with the Buffs finishing as National Runner-Up while the Lady Buffs tied for fourth overall. LSC Champion Lady Buff Softball claimed 64 points as they advanced to the Super Regionals while men's golf picked up 60.75 with their trip to the NCAA Championships. The Lady Buffs advanced to medal match play at the Women's Golf National Championships to claim 73 points.
Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final DII standings, four of which must be women's volleyball and basketball and men's basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
