CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M have been selected for their 29
th NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship announced on Sunday night during the annual online selection show on NCAA.com.
The Lady Buffs are the sixth seed in the South Central Region as they will take on third-seeded UT Tyler on Friday at a time to be determined. Lone Star Conference Tournament Champion Texas Woman's will serve as the host at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas.
WT is 41-27 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with the 42 wins ranking fifth all-time in NCAA Division II and ranks fourth among active DII schools.
The Lady Buffs have claimed eight Regional Championships with two appearances in the National Finals since the 1986-87 campaign. In the last eight NCAA tournament appearances for WT, the Lady Buffs are 19-8 during the stretch with four South Central Regional Championships and an appearance in the 2014 Division II National Title Game.
The 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Elite Eight will take place on March 24-28 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
