CANYON, Texas – The #11 Lady Chaps of Lubbock Christian played lock down defense on Thursday afternoon during the quarterfinal round of the 2025 Lone Star Conference Women's Basketball Championships as they picked up a 55-34 victory over West Texas A&M at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
 
Kyla Kane led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Wellington product went 7-of-13 from the floor including 2-of-4 from behind the arc for a team-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists as she played the entire 40 minutes. 
Rosemary Odebunmi scored six points off the bench followed by 
Claire Graham and 
Taylor Haggan with five each.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 13-of-53 (24.1%) from the floor including 2-of-13 (15.4%) from behind the arc and 6-of-13 (46.2%) from the free throw line with 41 rebounds (17 offensive, 24 defensive), five assists, 23 turnovers, three blocks and seven steals in the loss.
 
LSC Player of the Year Grace Foster led all players with 21 points as she went 9-of-13 from the floor and 2-of-5 from deep to go along with five rebounds, two assists and five blocks. LCU shot 42% (21-of-50) from the field including 33.3% (6-of-18) from behind the arc and 70% (7-of-10) from the stripe with 34 rebounds, 13 assists, 17 turnovers, six blocks and 16 steals.
 
The Lady Buffs now await their postseason fate as the 64-team field for the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championships will be announced on Sunday at 10:30 p.m. ET via an online selection at NCAA.com.
