CANYON, Texas – The sixth-seeded Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M overcame a slow start offensively on Friday afternoon as they picked up the program's 43
rd victory in the NCAA Division II Tournament with a 58-47 win over #10 UT Tyler in the South Central Regional Quarterfinals at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas.
 
Kyla Kane led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Wellington product went 6-of-13 from the floor including 6-of-10 from behind the arc and 3-of-4 from the line for a game-high 21 points to go along with nine rebounds. 
Hollie Stalder chipped in 15 points and six boards off the bench while 
Claire Graham was also in double-figures with 11 points.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the game going 17-of-53 (32.1%) from the field including 10-of-31 (32.3%) from deep and 14-of-21 (66.7%) from the stripe with 46 rebounds (13 offensive, 33 defensive), 13 assists, 13 turnovers, three blocks and a steal.
 
Ella Bradley paced the UT Tyler offense as she went 5-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the free throw line for a team-best 13 points to go along with seven rebounds and two assists. The Patriots finished the game going 19-of-62 (30.6%) from the field including 3-of-22 (13.6%) from deep and 6-of-7 (85.7%) from the stripe with 35 boards, nine assists, nine turnovers, one block and seven steals.
 
The Lady Buffs now await their opponent for the Regional Semifinals as they will take on the winner of Lubbock Christian and UCCS on Saturday night with tipoff set for 5:00 p.m. in Denton.
