Haggan’s Big Night Isn’t Enough as the Lady Buffs Fall

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M sophomore Taylor Haggan finished the regular season finale with a season-high 19 points but that wasn't enough as the Lady Buffs struggled offensively in a 56-43 Lone Star Conference divisional loss to the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
 
The Parker, Texas product went 9-of-20 from the floor for a game-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds and two steals. Kyla Kane contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds first career double-double to go along with two blocks and a steal.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the game going 17-of-54 (31.5%) from the floor including 1-of-14 (7.1%) from deep and 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the free throw line with 37 rebounds (14 offensive, 23 defensive), nine assists, 15 turnovers, four blocks and four steals in the loss.
 
Abbi Holder and Ishuana Hunter led the way for the Greyhounds as they scored 10 points each, Holder had four rebounds and four assists while Hunter grabbed three boards with a steal. ENMU finished the game going 21-of-52 (40.4%) from the field including 3-of-14 (21.4%) from behind the arc and 11-of-20 (55%) from the stripe with 37 rebounds, 10 assists, 12 turnovers, three blocks and seven steals.
 
The Lady Buffs now await their postseason seeding and matchup for the 2025 Lone Star Conference Basketball Championships taking place on March 6-9 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
