CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M led by as many as 18 points in the third quarter on Thursday night, holding strong during a fourth quarter comeback attempt to claim a 60-57 exhibition victory over the Arizona Wildcats at McKale Memorial Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Randi Harding led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the Mustang, Oklahoma product went 5-of-14 from the floor including 2-of-7 from behind the arc and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe for a game-best 15 points to go along with one assist and a block.
Kyla Kane added 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double followed by
Karley Motschenbacher and
Taylor Haggan with nine points each.

WT finished the game going 22-of-62 (35.5%) from the floor including 6-of-30 (20%) from deep and 10-of-19 (52.6%) from the free throw line with 45 total rebounds (16 offensive, 29 defensive), 10 assists, 16 turnovers, four steals and six blocks.

Henley West continued her impressive start to the season as the freshman went 4-of-4 from the floor for eight points to go along with three boards and three blocks. The Lady Buffs led for 36:05 of the game with their largest lead (18) coming at the 4:59 mark of the third quarter.

The Wildcats were led by Noelani Cornfield who went 5-of-7 from the field including 4-of-4 from the charity stripe for a team-best 14 points to go along with two rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sumayah Sugapong chipped in 12 points followed by Daniah Trammell with eight.

Arizona finished the night going 21-of-61 (34.4%) from the floor including 1-of-12 (8.3%) from behind the arc and 14-of-17 (82.4%) from the free throw line with 37 rebounds, six assists, 11 turnovers, eight steals and six blocks.

The Lady Buffs close out their preseason schedule on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Waco, Texas to take on the #18 Baylor Bears with tipoff set for 4:00 p.m. at Foster Pavillion.
