CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M couldn't overcome extended scoring droughts on Thursday night as they dropped a Lone Star Conference divisional matchup to the #17 Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps, 59-44 at the Rip Griffin Center in Lubbock.
 
Taylor Haggan led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the sophomore went 6-of-12 from the floor for a team-best 12 points to go along with seven rebounds, one block and a steal. 
Claire Graham contributed nine points and seven board followed by 
Taytum Bell with eight points and six rebounds.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 19-of-57 (33.3%) from the field including 1-of-17 (5.9%) from deep and 5-of-10 (50%) from the free throw line with 32 rebounds (seven offensive, 25 defensive), four assists, nine turnovers, one block and five steals.
 
Childress product Grace Foster was dominant for the Lady Chaps as she went 11-of-24 from the field for a game-high 30 points to go along with 14 rebounds for a double-double. LCU went 23-of-53 (43.4%) from the floor including 4-of-13 (30.8%) from behind the arc and 9-of-9 from the stripe with 39 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 turnovers, three blocks and five steals in the win.
 
The Lady Buffs close out their four-game road swing on Saturday afternoon as they make their way to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on the Midwestern State Mustangs with tipoff set for 1:00 p.m. at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
