CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M led by as many as nine points early in the fourth quarter before Midwestern State battled back for a thrilling 69-67 Lone Star Conference victory at D.L. Ligon Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas on Saturday afternoon.
 
Kyla Kane led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the junior from Wellington went 7-of-17 from the floor including 4-of-8 from behind the arc for a team-best 18 points to go along with four rebounds. 
Randi Harding contributed 15 points and three boards followed by 
Taytum Bell in double-figures with 14 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 26-of-63 (41.3%) from the field including 6-of-20 (30%) from deep and 9-of-15 (60%) from the stripe with 40 rebounds (16 offensive, 24 defensive), eight assists, 15 turnovers, three blocks and four steals.
 
The Midwestern State offense was paced by Zarria Carter who went 9-of-19 from the floor for a game-high 22 points to go along with eight boards and three blocks. The Mustangs went 27-of-63 (42.9%) from the floor including 5-of-16 (31.3%) from behind the arc and 10-of-15 (66.7%) from the line with 35 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 turnovers, four blocks and six steals.
 
The Lady Buffs return to the First United Bank Center on Thursday night as they host the UT Permian Basin Falcons on "Paint the Floor Pink" Night with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. in Canyon.
