Brittany Harry Steps Down as Lady Buff Volleyball Head Coach

CANYON. Texas – Following one season of leading the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Volleyball program, Brittany Harry has resigned to accept the head coaching position at Division I Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.

"I want to thank Coach Harry for all she has done for WT volleyball in her short time here. Lady Buff Volleyball is a nationally recognized program with championship tradition, we have started the search for our next leader" said Vice President of Athletics Doug Lipinski.

Harry continued the rich history of Lady Buff Volleyball during her lone season in Canyon, leading West Texas A&M to the program's 31st NCAA Tournament with a run to the South Central Regional Semifinals with an overall record of 26-5. The Lady Buffs went a perfect 16-0 in Lone Star Conference action to win their 22nd LSC Regular Season Championship for the 16th unbeaten league record in school history.

"This is a very bittersweet moment for me as I make the decision to pursue another coaching opportunity. Even though my time at WT has been short, the impact that these special ladies have had on me will last forever" said Harry "I was treated like family from the moment Melia and I stepped foot on the WT campus last spring and that is a true testament to how special Canyon is. Melia and I will forever be grateful for the impact Lady Buff Volleyball had on our lives."

Harry was named the Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year for the second time as the Lady Buffs registered an incredible 19-match win-streak over a 64-day period from September 20th until November 23rd. She was named the 16th head coach in Lady Buff Volleyball history in March of 2024 following four seasons leading the Texas A&M International program.

The national search for the next head coach of Lady Buff Volleyball has begun.
