CANYON, Texas – Three members of the West Texas A&M Buffaloes have been honored for their efforts on the diamond as members of the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region team announced on Thursday.
 
Dylan Fesperman picked up First Team accolades while Kyle Micklus and Kory Schmidt were named to the Second Team. Fesperman now moves onto the ballot with a chance to become an All-American.
 
Lubbock Christian's Carson Ogilvie was tabbed the Regional Player of the Year while Rawley Hector from UT Tyler was named the Regional Pitcher of the Year.
 
Fesperman put together a great season in the middle of the WT batting order as the senior from Phoenix hit .383 with 21 doubles, three triples and 11 homeruns to drive in a team-leading 67 RBI for a slugging percentage of .694 to go along with 24 walks and 46 strikeouts for an on-base clip of .463. Fesperman was named to the All-LSC First Team as he registered a 29-game hitting streak during the heart of the season.
 
Micklus, the LSC Newcomer of the Year, was the backbone of the Buffs as he hit .409 with 17 doubles, two tripes and six long balls to drive in 44 RBI with 118 total bases for a slugging percentage of .611. The Waller, Texas product registered 39 walks while stealing 11 bases to go along with a .984 fielding percentage behind the plate with 403 putouts and 33 assists while throwing out 18 potential base stealers to earn LSC All-Defensive accolades.
 
Schmidt put on a show at the plate for the Buffs in 2024, hitting .394 with 20 doubles, one triple and a team-leading 12 homeruns to drive in 62 RBI with 138 total bases and a slugging percentage of .680. The Liberty Hill, Texas native registered 35 walks for an on-base clip of .484 while also registering a fielding percentage of .977 with 106 putouts and 20 assists working behind the plate and at first base. Schmidt was named to the All-LSC First Team.
