Saw time in 42 games with 39 starts for the Buffaloes during his first season in Maroon & White in 2023... Schmidt hit .345 with 11 doubles, two triples and nine homeruns to drive in 44 RBI for a slugging percentage of .647 to go along with 24 walks and six hit-by-pitch for an on-base clip of .451... Defensively he registered 244 putouts with 20 assists for a fielding percentage of .989... Third Team All-Lone Star Conference honoree...

At Dodge City Community College:
First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region selection for the Conquistadors of Dodge City Community College under head coaches Phil Stephenson and Bret Doe... Became the all-time homerun leader at Dodge City CC while graduating with an Associate's Degree in General Studies in 2022...

At Liberty Hill High School:
First Team All-State and First Team All-District honoree at Liberty Hill High School for the Panthers under head coach Steve Hutchison... Also lettered in football and basketball at LHHS...
