Will Fuenning drove in five runs on Sunday afternoon as the Buffaloes picked up a 16-3 run-rule victory to complete the Lone Star Conference weekend sweep of the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions at Wilder Park in Canyon, Texas.

The Buffs got on the board in the home half of the first inning as
Kory Schmidt lined an RBI double to the wall in right center with two outs to plate
Mike Manetta for the early 1-0 lead. WT added to their lead in the third as
Will Fuenning doubled down the right field line with two outs to drive in a pair followed by an
Eddy Savoie RBI single to make it 4-0.

WT added to their lead in the home half of the fourth as Schmidt drew an RBI walk with the bases loaded and one out followed by Fuenning being hit by a pitch to make it 6-0, the Buffs weren't done yet as Savoie lifted a sac fly to center with one out to plate
Adam Becker for the 7-0 lead.

The Lions got on the board in the top of the fifth as Matt Schilling singled thru the left side with two outs to score Sammy Seeger to make it 7-1. WT responded in the bottom of the frame as Manetta singled to center to score
Evan Leibl followed by a Becker RBI double and a Fuenning RBI single to make it 10-1.

The Buffs used the long ball to add to their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning as Leibl connected on a two-run shot to center followed later it the frame by a Schmidt two-run double and a RBI singles from Fuenning and
Patrick Donovan for the 16-1 lead. UAFS took advantage of a Buffalo fielding error with two outs to plate a pair to make it 16-3.

Mason Caperton picked up the win (1-0) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing one earned run on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts during his 4.1 innings of work.

The Buffs hit the road for Lone Star Conference action next weekend as they take on the Oklahoma Christian Eagles in a four-game series beginning on Thursday with first pitch set for 5:00 p.m. at Dobson Field.
