CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes ran their win streak to five games on Thursday night as they picked up an 11-2 victory over the Oklahoma Christian Eagles during the Lone Star Conference opener at Dobson Field in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The Buffs jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning as
Mike Manetta scored from third on a passed ball with the bases loaded and one out followed by an
Eddy Savoie RBI walk, WT wasn't done yet as
Cameron Loy singled to right center with two outs to drive in a pair for the 4-0 lead.

OC responded in the home half of the second inning as Grant Lake singled to right with one out to drive in Chance Westervelt followed by a Jaren Hill RBI fielder's choice groundout to make it 4-2. WT added to their lead in the top of the fourth as
Adam Becker singled to left with one out to drive in
Dylan Fesperman followed later in the frame by a
Will Fuenning RBI double and a wild pitch to score Becker to make it 7-2.

WT added to their lead again in the top of the fifth inning as Fesperman lifted a three-run homerun down the left field line for the 10-2 lead. The Buffs weren't done yet as they added an insurance run in the sixth on a double play ball that scored Fuenning for the 11-2 lead.

Justice Hayes picked up the win (2-0) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing no runs on five hits with no walks and no strikeouts in his 6.0 scoreless innings of relief.Â

The Buffs and Eagles continue their series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch of a doubleheader set for 3:00 p.m. at Dobson Field.
