2023:
Made 11 appearances with eight starts for the Buffaloes during the 2023 campaign. Caperton registered an overall record of 1-2 with a 8.23 ERA as he allowed 27 runs (25 earned) on 36 hits with 13 walks and 22 strikeouts during his 27.1 innings of work to allow an opposing batting average of .324. 

At New Mexico State:
Spent two seasons at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces where he saw time in 10 games on the mound for the Aggies in relief. The talented lefty registered 15 strikeouts during his 9.2 innings of work with just six walks. Caperton helped the Aggies claim the 2022 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament Championship and advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament in Corvallis, Oregon. 

At Eunice High School:
Registered a standout prep career at Eunice High School where he tossed 12 no-hitters and a perfect game for the Cardinals under head coach Drew Reynolds. He was an All-State selection as well as the Class 3A Player of the Year on thd diamond, Caperton was also a standout on the gridiron as the starting quarterback on three State Championship teams at EHS.

Personal:
Born November 21, 2001. Mason is the son of Billy Caperton and Misty Jenkins and he has six siblings: Kennede, Kezia, Bella, Conagor and Bryce. He is expected to major in Business Marketing at West Texas A&M.
