CANYON, Texas -- The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M return to The Pitch to host Fort Lewis College. WT, winners of back-to-back games, comes off a 3-0 defeat of Adams State in Alamosa, Colo. The Lady Buffs and Skyhawks kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday at The Pitch.

Fans wanting to attend the game should park in the north Buffalo Sports Complex parking lot or at the Randall County Justice Center.

All Time Series
WT leads the all-time series against Fort Lewis, 9-1. The Lady Buffs and Skyhawks first squared off on Aug. 26, 1998, with the Lady Buffs taking a hard-fought 3-2 victory in overtime. The two teams met in the 2021 season where WT walked away with a 4-1 win.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Buffs used a similar formula to defeat Adams State as they did to defeat No. 14 Emporia State. WT opened the scoring in the fourth minute as Asha James found Maria-Frances Serrant on a centering pass to the front of the goal. The two Trinidad & Tobago natives connected again in the 63rd minute as Serrant found James for the Lady Buffs' second goal of the game. Later in the second half, Maliyah Mendoza repeated James' play to Serrant as she found Nicole Gray inside the box for Gray's first collegiate goal.

SCOUTING FORT LEWIS
The Skyhawks opened their 2022 season with a 1-0 loss to Chaminade in Durango, Colo. The Silverswords scored the game's only goal in the 12th minute off the foot of Hoku Schatz. In Fort Lewis' scoreless draw against Lubbock Christian, the Skyhawks placed three of their 10 shots on goal. Goalkeepers Riley Bravin and Katie Dunbabin combined to make eight saves in the game with Dunbabin accounting for seven.

SOLID START IN NET
Sophomore Reagan Heelan has led a stout Lady Buffs' back line to a pair of shutout wins to open the season. In 176 minutes of play so far, the Kearney, Nebraska native has 10 saves on 16 total shots. In WT's win over No. 14 Emporia State, Heelan came off her line multiple times to keep the game scoreless. Heelan's biggest save in the win came in the 75th minute as All-American Mackenzie DiMarco found open space behind the WT defense. As DiMarco looked for the shot, Heelan came out and smothered the chance to keep the game scoreless.
Against Adams State, Heelan stimied the Grizzlies offense, coming up with five saves in 86 minutes of play. Following Heelan's departure, freshman Nadia came in to close out the Lady Buffs' victory. Reyna notched her first collegiate save in the 87th minute off a shot by Alycia Vigil. A minute later, Reyna added another save from a shot by Madison Hagerty.

A LOOK AHEAD...
The Lady Buffs hit the road for a pair of games in the Sooner State. WT takes on Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday, September 6 at 6 p.m. The Lady Buffs then travel to Weatherford where Southwestern Oklahoma State awaits.
