CANYON, Texas – No. 11 West Texas A&M is set to compete in the Lone Star Conference Women's Golf Championships on April 21-23 in Glen Rose, Texas. The three-day event will take place at the Par 72 – 6,030-yard Squaw Valley Golf Course.
The Conference championships will be determined by 54 holes of stroke play followed by medal match play for the top four teams.
The Lady Buffs look to improve off last season's fifth-place finish where they shot 21-over with rounds of 293, 298, and 294. WT won its first conference title in 2019 at the Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene led by former Lady Buff
Loukyee Songprasert who grabbed the individual title.
WT enters postseason play 11
th in the Women's golf Coaches Association national standings after grabbing four team victories in the regular-season. Three Lady Buffs have been named the LSC Golfer of the Week this season including
Alyssa Campbell,
Gam Songprasert, and
Lorenza Perini.
Songprasert leads the Lady Buffs as the freshman is ranked 22
nd in the Golfstat individual rankings with a scoring average of 74.23. The freshman has placed in the Top 10 six times this season including four this spring.
The Lady Buffs tee off Thursday's opening round with an 8 a.m. shotgun followed by the second round at 1 p.m. The third round is set for Friday with medal match play following for the top four teams. Saturday will feature the final two teams in the medal match play finals.
