CANYON, Texas – The #14 Buffaloes are headed home with a Lone Star Conference series victory over the #7 Rams of Angelo State following a 12-6 defeat in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Foster Field in San Angelo, Texas.

WT wasted little time getting on the board as
Ryan Johnson jumped on a fastball and lifted it to straight away center field for a solo homerun and the 1-0 lead. The Rams responded in the home half with six run highlighted by an Aaron Walters three-run homerun to make it 6-1.

Will Fuenning stayed hot at the plate in the top of the second as the Scottsdale product crushed a solo bomb to left center field followed later in the frame by an
Eddy Savoie RBI single to center and a Johnson RBI single to make it 6-4. ASU did some damage with two outs in the home half of the third as Jordan Williams and Tayten Tredaway doubled home runs to extend the lead to 8-4.

WT cut into the lead again in the top of the fifth as
Kennedy Badgett went the other way for a solo homerun to right center followed later in the frame by an
Izaiah Madrid RBI single to left to make it 8-6. The Rams would score four runs over the final four frames to take the 12-6 victory.

Brennan Berdon picked up the loss (0-1) for the Buffs during his first career start in Maroon and White, allowing six runs (five earned) on three hits with one walk and no strikeouts in his 0.1 innings of work.

The Buffs return to Wilder Park for Lone Star Conference action next weekend as they host the Texas A&M International Dustdevils in a four-game series beginning in Thursday night with first pitch set for 7 p.m. in Canyon.
