CANYON, Texas – The #4 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M got back to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they picked up a pair of Lone Star Conference victories over the Oklahoma Christian Eagles at Wilder Park in Canyon, Texas.

Tomorrow's series finale has been moved up to an 11 a.m. first pitch due to the threat of high wind gusts in the Texas Panhandle in the late afternoon.Â

GAME ONE
The Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning as Grant Lake started off the game with a solo homerun to right field for the 1-0 advantage. WT wasted little time responding as
Ryan Johnson doubled home
Eddy Savoie followed later in the frame by a wild pitch to plate Johnson for the 2-1 lead.

WT added to their lead in the second as Johnson singled to right center to score
Nollan Koon followed by a wild pitch with two outs to score
Paul Wittmann and make it 4-1. The Buffs added to their lead in the fourth as Savoie tripled down the right field line to score Wittmann followed later in the inning by an
Adam Becker sac fly to deep center field as Savoie tagged up for the 6-1 lead.Â

OC cut into the lead in the top of the fifth with two runs on three hits as Cole Lee singled thru the left side to drive in Matthew Conerly followed by a Chance Westervelt RBI single to right to make it 6-3. WT added some insurance runs in the sixth as
Eric Ortiz doubled to left field with the bases loaded to drive in three runs with two outs for the 9-3 lead.Â

Nick Marshall picked up the win (6-0) for the Buffs, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts in his first complete game victory of the season.

GAME TWO
The Buffs jumped out to an early lead in the nightcap as a Becker two-run double to the power alley in right center in the bottom of the first gave WT the 2-0 advantage.Â

The Eagles cut into the lead in the top of the fifth as Cole Lee singled to right field with two outs to score Jaren Hill followed by a WT error in the outfield with two outs that kept the inning alive and tied the game, Westervelt lifted a double to right field that plated Lake and knocked Eagan from the game and take the 3-2 lead.

WT took advantage of an errant throw on a potential double-play ball to end the inning as the Buffs would plate two on that throw followed by a
Will Fuenning RBI single thru the left side for the 5-3 lead. The Buffs would add an insurance run in the sixth as Savoie singled thru the right side with two outs to drive in
Bryant Bailey and make it 6-3.

The Eagles wouldn't go down without a fight as Lee doubled to the gap in right center to drive in a run with one out before Charnholm locked in and forced a grounder to Savoie followed by his fifth strikeout to end the game, 6-4.Â

Colton Charnholm picked up the win (5-2) on the mound for WT, allowing one earned run on one hit sith one walk and five strikeouts in his 2.1 innings of relief.
Jack Eagan allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits with one walk and 12 strikeouts in the first 4.2 innings.
