CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's
Adam Becker drove in five runs on a pair of long balls as the #4 Buffaloes clinched the Lone Star Conference weekend series from the Oklahoma Christian Eagles with an 8-5 victory in Sunday's finale at Wilder Park in Canyon.

The Buffs jumped out to an early lead as Becker connected on a three-run homerun to left center that scored
Eddy Savoie and
Ryan Johnson for the 3-0 lead. OC responded in the top of the fourth as Tanner White lifted a two-run shot to right center field to make it 3-2.

OC tied up the game in the top of the fifth as Grant Lake singled to center field with one out to drive in Conner Jackson followed later in the frame by a Michael DiFiore RBI single to left center for the 4-3 lead. WT used the long ball to retake the lead in the home half as Becker and
Eric Ortiz both connected on two-run shots for the 7-4 lead.

The Eagles cut into the lead in the top of the sixth as Grant Lake lifted a sacrifice fly to right field with one out to score Jackson and make it 7-5. WT responded in the home half of the frame as
Will Fuenning scored from third on a wild pitch with two outs to extend the lead to 8-5. OC made things interesting in the ninth as they loaded the bases with one out but Berdon slammed the door with a pair of strikeouts to give WT the 8-5 win.

Isaac Keehn picked up the win (1-0) for the Buffs, allowing one earned run on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts in his 3.1 innings of work.
Brennan Berdon picked up his first save, allowing no runs on one hit with three strikeouts in the final frame.

The Buffs hit the road for LSC action next weekend as the head to the Hill Country for a four-game series against the St. Mary's Rattlers beginning on Friday night with first pitch set for 6 p.m. at Dickinson Stadium in San Antonio.
