CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head baseball coach Matt Vanderburg has announced the addition of Ladera Ranch, California right-hander Luke Kovaleski for the 2023 campaign. Kovaleski joins Justice Hayes, Douglas Rojas, Blake Wolf, Brayden Franco, Jaxen Monkerud and Kaden Monkerud in WT's signing class.
 
Kovaleski is entering his senior season at San Juan Hills High School in San Juan Capistrano, California as he pitches while also playing in the outfield and behind the plate for the Stallions under head coach Bret Levier. The talented right-hander was an All-Tournament selection at the 2020 Perfect Game 17U West World Series at the Surprise Spring Training Complex in Arizona.
 
Luke is the son of Ken and Jennifer Kovaleski and he has two siblings, Kayla and Evan. He is planning on majoring in Health Sciences at West Texas A&M.
 
The Buffs open their 2022 campaign on February 4-5 as the host the Bob Sloan Baseball Classic at Wilder Park with matchups against New Mexico Highlands and Colorado State-Pueblo.
