DO THE MEASUREMENTS AND BUILD THE STATUE
The statue of Zada Swoopes outside the WT Track & Field Complex needs to be built soon after another record-breaking performance form the two-time National Champion.Â
Â
She now ranks second all-time in the women's shot put at the NCAA Division II level after her mark of 57-3 (17.45m) at the Masked Rider Open on Saturday. That not only breaks her own school and Lone Star Conference record but is the best mark in the event since 2003.Â
Â
The Whitewright native was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. She was also named the LSC Field Athlete of the Week for the fifth time in her career.Â

Â
ANYTHING YOU CAN DO, WE CAN DO BETTER
The Lady Buffs also swept the weekly awards with Swoopes and Uwajeneza being honored. Swoopes has earned the honor for the third time this season after she broke the LSC record again.
