BACK-TO-BACK
Florance Uwajeneza is looking to become the first women to win consecutive individual title since 2007. The junior won last year's title by more than a minute and has yet to lose against NCAA Division II competition since stepping onto campus last fall. She would also be the first Lady Buff in program history to win back-to-back individual titles.
Earlier this season, she won the 5-kilometer race at the Missouri Southern Stampede with the fastest time in program history, 16:43.6. She was also the top DII runner at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in 15
th in a time off 17:002.
THE SUPPORTING CAST
Much like her brother, Innocent Murwanashyaka, Uwajeneza gets most of the fanfare but WT will need a total team effort if they are going to have a chance to win their first team title since 2013.
Eleonora Curtabbi went under 17 minutes alongside Uwajeneza in Missouri and will look to become the first Lady Buff to be named Newcomer of the Year honors since 2011.
Grace Dwyer is no stranger to big meets as the graduate transfer from Calumet College of St. Joseph was a two-time Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Champion.
Daphne Pate, the 2018 LSC Freshman of the Year, is coming off her best run of the year at Angelo State last week and will look to earn All-Conference honors for a second time.
Raquel Chavez,
Betty Bajika,
Jamie Lahey and
Delaney Weaver will all be competing in their first LSC Cross Country Championships.
