CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M announced the 2020 football schedule on Thursday. The Buffs will play five home games at Buffalo Stadium in year four of the
Hunter Hughes era in Canyon.
WT returns six starters on defense, nine starters on offense, including five All-Lone Star Conference selections from a team that finished 8-3 in 2019.
The Buffs open the season on the road against Azusa Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 5 before hosting UT Permian Basin in their LSC opener on Sept. 12. After a pair of road games, Western New Mexico (Sept. 19) and Colorado School of Mines (Sept. 26), WT will host Western Oregon in the Homecoming Game on Oct. 3.
Another away game at Angelo State (Oct. 10) is followed by the first Wagon Wheel game at Buffalo Stadium on Oct. 17. WT makes the trip to Texas A&M-Commerce on Oct. 24 before hosting Texas A&M-Kingsville on Halloween.
WT finishes conference play on Nov. 7 at Midwestern State before closing out the regular season at home against Texas Wesleyan on Nov. 14.
