CANYON, Texas – The #13 Buffaloes wrap-up the regular season this weekend as they head to Lawton, Oklahoma to take on the Cameron Aggies in a four-game Lone Star Conference series starting on Saturday afternoon at McCord Field.

CAMERON
The Aggies are guided by fourth year head coach Brady Huston who holds an overall record of 96-98 entering this weekend. Cameron enters the final week of the regular season with an overall record of 20-25 including a 11-9 mark in LSC play following three losses to UT Permian Basin on the road this past weekend in Odessa.

CU is led offensively by Izrael Trevino who is hitting .308 on the season with seven doubles, two triples and seven homeruns to drive in 41 RBI with 81 total bases for a slugging percentage of .509. Devin Castro enters the weekend with an ERA of 5.51 as he has allowed 41 runs (30 earned) on 50 hits with 41 strikeouts in his 49.0 innings of work for an opposing batting average of .263.

NATIONAL COLLEGE BASEBALL WRITERS TOP-25 POLL (APR. 30)
The West Texas A&M Buffaloes fell one spot to 13th in this week's edition of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top-25 Poll announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Angelo State picked up 19 of the possible 20 first place votes for 499 total points to sit atop of the poll for the second straight week followed by Tampa (466), North Greenville (455), UC San Diego (one first place, 445), Colorado Mesa (408), Millersville (379), Adelphi (355), Newberry (351), Azusa Pacific (323) and West Florida (303) to round out the top ten. The South Central Region was represented by Angelo State (1st), Colorado Mesa (6th), West Texas A&M (13th), Lubbock Christian (23rd) and Colorado School of Mines (RV).

Matt Vanderburg has built West Texas A&M Baseball into a regional and national contender as the Norman, Oklahoma native enters his 11th season at the helm of the Buffs. He holds an overall record of 353-214 (.623) during his decade in Canyon while registering a career record of 452-281 (.616) in his 13 seasons in collegiate baseball.

CORBETT MAKING A MOVE
West Texas A&M senior
Joe Corbett has become one of the top pitchers in all of Division II Baseball this season as the Edmond, Oklahoma native is making his way up the WT career record book in multiple categories. Corbett currently sits second in career victories with 21 to sit behind Jason Patrick (22, 1994-97) while also ranking third in career strikeouts (212) behind
Dylan James (221, 2013-14) and Raymond Bergara (224, 2001-05). Corbett set the single-season wins record as a junior in 2018 with a mark of 11-2 as he in just one victory shy of tying his own mark.

SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL RANKINGS (MAY 1)
Top ranked Angelo State sits atop of the regional poll followed by Colorado Mesa, Lubbock Christian, Colorado School of Mines, West Texas A&M, Dixie State, Oklahoma Christian and Arkansas-Fort Smith. The 56-team field for the 2019 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship will be announced via an online selection show taking place on NCAA.com on Sunday, May 12th at 10 p.m. ET with six selections coming from the South Central Region. Winners of the LSC, Heartland and RMAC Tournament will receive an automatic bid into the regional with the final three spots determined by the NCAA selection committee.
