2013: Named Honorable Mention Daktronics All-America and NCBWA Honorable Mention All-America...Earned first team All-Lone Star Conference honors last season and all-tournament accolades in his first year in a Buff uniform...James set the school record for strikeouts in a season with 95 and led the league in strikeouts, including tallying a career-high 14 K's in a 3-1 win at nationally ranked Angelo State on Mar. 29...It was his first win at WT and he was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Pitcher of the Week for his efforts...His 14 strikeouts also were the most K's by a single pitcher in the LSC this season.  He earned LSC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors three times this season....He tallied a 1.83 ERA for the season and a 5-2 record, while starting 11 games.  James tallied a team and conference-high six complete games with 2.5 shutouts in 73.2 innings.  He allowed 47 hits, 18 runs, fanned 95 and walked 24.   He ranks ninth nationally in strikeouts, 38^th in ERA, eighth in hits allowed per nine innings, 18^th in complete games and 13 in strikeouts per nine innings at 11.61 per game....James' opponents hit just .177 against him which was the lowest in the conference.  He didn't allow a run in his final three starts of the season and, in conference play only, he allowed a total of 10 runs in eight starts including the conference tournament...James was named one of 40 semifinalists for the prestigious Tino Martinez Award which is presented to the most outstanding player in NCAA Division II college baseball.

Otero Junior College: Competed at Otero Junior College where he earned first team all-district honors as a pitcher...Had a 1.29 ERA for the Rattlers while leading the team in strikeouts...Earned a Gold Glove at Otero for head coach Chris Carrillo.

Mayfield High School: Attended Mayfield High School where he pitched and played 3B for head caoch Miguel Gomez...Earned first team all-district honors and a Gold Glove for the Trojans.

Personal: Born June 27, 1992...Parents are Linda and Robert James and brother Dustin...Plans on majoring in mass communications at WT.
